Samsung Galaxy S2 is one of the most powerful smart phone with super fast processor, brighter screen and provides wonderful user experience. Recently Samsung has come up with a newer update, which improves battery life and rectifies many bugs. But most of the people are finding it difficult to update or access the phone via Kies.
Common Error:- After installing Kies to your PC. Connecting status will keep on rotating and wont connect. It also shows CDC error
- For some people Kies older version might work but after updating it might show connecting error.
Solution:
- Always download the Kies software from the Samsung official site.
- If the connecting error show after update. Just uninstall the software from your PC and install the latest Kies software from the official Samsung site.

Hi!
I have downloaded the latest KIES version from the Samsung website and the same problem persists I have uninstalled the new version and reinstalled the older version that worked before, but now it doesn't connect either I have resourced to using KIES Air for now.
I like the USB version because it allows for more flexibility and firmware upgrade, but for now I have searched all forums and I still cant find a solution.
I have gone to the USB driver in KIES folder and I have tried every single USB driver, in one forum they said that it was located in folder 16_Shrewsbury which may work for some people while the device driver protocol appears.
Why can't the CDC SERIAL driver be posted somewhere for download?
I am so frustrated with this process plus KIES eats up so many resources when running, I find it is a PIG of a program.
I put the office name of my samsung phone in the samsung OFFICIAL website. There was a download for the driver software updated in November, 2012. Downloaded it and now I have no problems. Hope that helps.
